Sandy and soft seabed from 2 to 150 meters deep.
Distribution:
Northern parts of Biscay and north to Iceland and the White Sea. Southern parts of the Baltic Sea. Common along the entire Norwegian coast.
Food:
Various benthic invertebrates and fish.
Several of the flounder fish are tolerant of freshwater. Both flounder and flounder are sometimes found in streams or rivers.
