Trond Østrem becomes operations manager at Atlanterhavsparken ! 🤩👏🏻 Atlanterhavsparken is open 360 days a year. This places great demands on the operation of the facility. Trond Østrem has been hired to manage this work. Trond Østrem is no newcomer to aquarium operations in Ålesund. As a child and young man, he delivered fish and animals to the aquarium when it was located in Fiskernes hus in the center of Ålesund. Østrem studied aquaculture, fishing and trapping before coming to the facility at Tueneset. From 1997 onwards, he was instrumental in filling the facility with fish and animals before the opening in 1998. From 1998, he has been a permanent employee, with the exception of four years as a fisherman between 2002 and 2006. In his role as operations manager, Østrem is part of the management team at Atlanterhavsparken and he will be responsible for 12 full-time employees in the operations department, nearly twelve thousand square meters of exhibition space and for approximately 5,000 fish and animals. Over the years at Atlanterhavsparken Trond Østrem has gained experience and expertise that is only possible by working at Atlanterhavsparken . - Trond has shown strong leadership skills over time and is also an important continuity provider for us. There is hardly a square centimeter on the facility, inside and out, that he has not been involved in planning, maintaining or upgrading, says the CEO of Atlanterhavsparken , Kjetil Aarseth.
