🌟 Exciting times for the Science Center 🌟 The Science Team has been in Trondheim to work closely with our mentors at the Science Center there, who are assisting us in the development of our new talent center! 🤩 The Talent Center will be an offer for students with high learning potential and is an important measure to prevent school dropout. Here, young people who think outside the box will be able to meet each other and participate in adapted teaching programs - an important social and educational platform for those who may fall outside for various reasons ❤️ We have had planning meetings, participated in teacher training courses and met schools that have already started similar learning programs. We also got to visit the Newton Room and NTNU's chemistry laboratories at Cecilie's old workplace, and got lots of inspiration for a new chemistry program with us 🧪🔬⚗️ In addition, we explored the planetarium and got lots of inspiration for future exhibitions and learning programs at Atlanterhavsparken ! Wow – what a week it has been Atlanterhavsparken ! 🌟 Here are some highlights: 🐧 The penguins have new houses! A great upgrade, and Tottiz has really been a hero to make it happen! 🏠 📣 New residents have moved in! We have both wolffish and new types of catfish in the park! They are so cool, and are really worth a visit to see 🐠 🐙 The octopuses have officially moved into their new home, and we could have watched them for hours! Insanely fascinating how they move - and change their colors 🤩 💙 We have had lots of nice visitors this week, both guests from Norway and abroad, school classes and kindergartens - always fun to see you experience the park! ✨ 🎥 Maria took us behind the scenes at the Science Center. This video is just something to look forward to! 🧇 We called in the weekend with bingo and waffle Friday - a great success! 🍔 Ole and Joachim held a cooking class for Italian exchange students, who impressed with their skills in the kitchen. Here fish burgers were made from trout from Hofseth👨‍🍳✨ 🎉 The weekend was also full of life in Atlanterhavsparken ! In addition to our regular program, we held "behind the scenes" tours, where participants got an exclusive insight into what goes on behind the scenes here at the park 🏞️ On Saturday we had the pleasure of collaborating with Nito to organize Children's Engineering Day, and it was a great success! 🚀👷‍♂️ Thanks to everyone who made the week absolutely wonderful! Some highlights from the recent time in the park! ✨ 🎥😍 Earlier this winter we had a visit from Visit Ålesund who made a fantastic new video with "all of Norway's" Yvonne! The video is now out, and the result is so good! Here you get a little insight behind the scenes! 💖🤭👶🏻 It was a great pleasure when our wonderful marketing coordinator Celine stopped by, together with a very special little guest of honor. ✨🌍 Several of our employees are on a study trip to The North Sea Oceanarium in Hirtshals to get inspiration for the further development of the park. Fascinating to see how they work with the aquarium there! 🎙️ Cecilie was a guest on NRK Radio in the program "Abel's Tower" at Parken Kulturhus. Fantastically delivered! An educational and exciting experience for the little ones! 👀🐙 On Friday we were visited by a group from Borgund Vg1. We took them on a little tour of the park and showed them our octopuses, and their new home! 😌 We had a biology class for a high school class with dissection of seafood - including the famous fact-finder Lars! 🥰 Week 10 was the first week with (free) booking of Storfjord Visningssenter (psst: still available places in the future!) 🎶🌊 Many 7th graders have participated in our new program about plastic and the ocean, including an activity trail, music production and a kids' lab! 🍞👩‍🍳 Did you know that we bake our bread here at the house every week? During the summer season, we actually bake bread every single day! 🐟🔭 We have had several theme days such as "Food from the Sea" with 9th grade and "Sea Day" for 5th grade, with a diving show and star orientation! Thank you to everyone who has visited us and helped make this week fantastic! 🙏💙

There have been exciting times in Atlanterhavsparken , and here's a little bit of what's been happening lately! 🌟 🤭 We've had a great visit here at the park, great to meet this legend! 🦦 It's not long now until the otter gang is released on Oterøya. In the meantime, we're having a blast inside 🥰 🦑 The guys have been working like heroes to make a new home for our octopus. Now it's ready, and it turned out so nice! The octopus moves in this week 💪🏻 👨‍🔬 Jørgen, our science center facilitator, has tried his hand at uncharted waters: he's fed the penguins! This is what he dressed up as, or what? 😏 ❄️ The winter break offered lots of exciting activities here at the park. Among other things, we arranged a number of behind-the-scenes tours, a science show, kitchen chemistry and a sea animal workshop. It was great how many people took the trip, the winter break was a great success! 😍 🍦 We visited Lamella and got to see the whole process when they make the ice cream we sell here in the park. Incredibly educational and impressive, and wow what a taste! ☕ The sink in the cafe is ready, and the coffee station has become so nice! Trond Østrem becomes operations manager at Atlanterhavsparken ! 🤩👏🏻 Atlanterhavsparken is open 360 days a year. This places great demands on the operation of the facility. Trond Østrem has been hired to manage this work. Trond Østrem is no newcomer to aquarium operations in Ålesund. As a child and young man, he delivered fish and animals to the aquarium when it was located in Fiskernes hus in the center of Ålesund. Østrem studied aquaculture, fishing and trapping before coming to the facility at Tueneset. From 1997 onwards, he was instrumental in filling the facility with fish and animals before the opening in 1998. From 1998, he has been a permanent employee, with the exception of four years as a fisherman between 2002 and 2006. In his role as operations manager, Østrem is part of the management team at Atlanterhavsparken and he will be responsible for 12 full-time employees in the operations department, nearly twelve thousand square meters of exhibition space and for approximately 5,000 fish and animals. Over the years at Atlanterhavsparken Trond Østrem has gained experience and expertise that is only possible by working at Atlanterhavsparken . - Trond has shown strong leadership skills over time and is also an important continuity provider for us. There is hardly a square centimeter on the facility, inside and out, that he has not been involved in planning, maintaining or upgrading, says the CEO of Atlanterhavsparken , Kjetil Aarseth.

This week has been full of exciting activities and great days! 🎉 Here are some highlights: 🚢 We had 304 guests from MS Otto Sverdrup visiting, as well as several cruise ships and private tours. As usual, we also had "ocean day" and "whole fish" for great school classes! 🔬 60 students from Biomarine innovation and Biotechnology at NTNU had an educational day with us where they received instruction in the subject of marine raw materials. Among other things, the students explored fish species used in food production, received lectures in "Whole fish", and made algae-based candy. Fantastic to see innovation in practice together with NTNU! 🌸 Mother's Day: We celebrated with sunshine and free coffee for all mothers ☕️💖 💡 The Science Center was at a facilitator's meeting at the Technical Museum in Oslo, and received lots of inspiration and professional reinforcement for future teaching. 🐙 The octopus will get a new home, and our skilled employees have made a solid effort to prepare the new tank! 🚗 This summer we will be "on wheels" again, and we have test-drove a new, more spacious car! Will this be the science center car of the future? 🎤 Fact-Lars at Møre Havlab: Fantastic turnout and engagement when Lars drove "close" this weekend! A week filled with lots of learning, collaboration and joy - we look forward to the next one! 🙌

Happy Monday everyone! Here's a recap of the week that went by. Atlanterhavsparken 🐙 🌞 This weekend Ålesund showed its best side! There really is nothing like magical days like these here in the park 🥹 🌟 We were in full swing with the semi-finals of the Super:bit competition 2025, a national coding competition for children between 10-13 years old! Fantastically talented and committed participants – this was so much fun! 🚀 📊 We started piloting a new and exciting teaching program at the Science Center! 🔬 🛠️ Several of the employees took a scaffolding course, and are now certified as scaffold builders! Perfect for rigging new installations and ensuring maintenance of the park! 💪 🌊 The intake line to Atlanterhavsparken had started to clog, and therefore had to undergo a maintenance flush. Thanks to the Frøy group and their service boat and diving team, we were able to clean it! 💦 As you can see, there was a lot of life on the pipe with sea anemones and carnations along the intake 🐚 🛠️ They say that the right tools are half the job, and in this case it is true! ✨ Our handyman, Tottiz, is very happy with the park's new addition, a Festool Domino DF 500, which facilitates completely invisible assembly of items and provides room for new and beautiful projects in the future! 🎨🔩 In this case, a new sink, which will eventually be available in the cafe! After two thrilling rounds, the team Hardcode came out as the winning team 🚀🔥🎉 They will now continue the competition in the national gold final!
