In the eastern Atlantic from Morocco to Finnmark in Norway. Main distribution along the coast of France, around the British Isles and up to Lofoten/Vesterålen in Norway.
Food:
Omnivores. Mussels, snails, crustaceans, polychaetes, sea urchins and carrion.
Facts about edible crab

Like other crustaceans, the edible crab must shed its shell in order to grow. When changing shells, the crab increases the width of the shell by 25%.
