Say hello to Oda, Emmet and Sara! 🦦💗👋 These three baby otters had a difficult start in life when they lost their mothers. Luckily, they were found and brought to us in Atlanterhavsparken , where they now get all the love, security and care they need to grow big and strong. Until then, they live safely inside with us, where they can play, explore and develop until they are ready to become part of the gang on Oterøya🦦💦 Oda, Emmet and Sara are already incredibly curious, playful and social, and we are so happy to be allowed to follow them on their journey 🥰 We hope you can greet these little critters outside in the spring! 🐾 ENG: Meet Oda, Emmet, and Sara! 🦦💗👋 These three baby otters had a rough start in life when they lost their mother. PART 2 🌟 2024 was also filled with exciting events and unforgettable meetings! We have had visits from famous faces, hosted important events, and experienced a number of milestones that we are incredibly proud of. Here are some more highlights from the past year: 👩‍🔬 Historic day! For the first time in the aquarium's history, we had two female divers at work at the same time! 🌊👩‍🚀 🎉 Oskar Westerlin came to visit, and got to try his hand as an aquarist. We also challenged him to jump into the large tank - he of course took it in stride! 💪💥 🐟 Visit from the Bergen Aquarium - We had a visit from the management team at the Bergen Aquarium - a great opportunity to share experiences and learn from each other! 🛍️ Record sales in the store and café - This year's sales have been record high! Thank you to everyone who has shopped, and for the fantastic feedback 💙 🦑 Minister of Fisheries visits - We had a visit from the Minister of Fisheries together with the marine industries! 🌍 We had the honor of presenting Atlanterhavsparken for 30 ambassadors! 🎣 Fisherman's evening with Alex Rosén – We had the pleasure of holding a fisherman's evening where fishermen and employees of the shipping companies met for a pleasant and social evening with fun entertainment 😎 💪 8 skilled apprentices from various professions were able to show off both their skills and knowledge in the Apprenticeship Competition. We held two competitions at our place with apprentice chefs and apprentices in aquaculture as judges. The participants got to hone their skills in tasks ranging from farmed fish to fish as raw material in the kitchen - an incredibly fun competition with impressive efforts from all participants! 🙌 🔧👩‍🍳 🚌 Electric shuttle bus – During the summer season, we introduced an electric shuttle bus from Ålesund city center to Atlanterhavsparken , which made it easy for visitors to get to us in an environmentally friendly way! 🌊 Hosting Nordic Aquarium Meeting – Atlanterhavsparken hosted the prestigious Nordic Aquarium Meeting, where professionals from all over the Nordic region gathered to share experiences and knowledge about the aquarium world. 🍔 The best fish burger ever! During Christmas we launched a juicy new item on the menu that was an instant hit! 🙌 The fish burger has become our new bestseller, and is now a permanent fixture on the menu!! 😋🔥 If you haven't tried it yet, we recommend stopping by 🤩 Thank you to everyone who helped make 2024 magical! DEL 1: 2024 – Hvor skal vi begynne? 🌟 Vi legger et helt fantastisk år bak oss, fylt med elleville rekorder, minner og store øyeblikk! Takket være dere har 2024 vært et uforglemmelig år, og vi er så takknemlige for støtten og engasjementet dere viser Atlanterhavsparken ❤️ Her kommer noen av årets største høydepunkter: 🏅Besøksrekord! Den 17. juli hadde vi over 3000 besøkende på én dag! Det ble samtidig satt rekord på salgstall i billetten og butikken. 🦦 I sommer tok vi inn og oppfostret to foreldreløse baby-otere, og nylig fikk vi to til. Lilly er allerede satt ut på Oterøya, hvor hun raskt ble en liten dronning av fyrtårnet. De tre andre kommer trolig til å bli satt ut til våren, om alt går som vi håper <3 💙 198.787 besøkende - wow!! Vi er helt overveldet over at så mange har besøkt oss i 2024 – tusen takk til dere alle! 🙏 💖 Vi hadde ringedugnad sammen med B2B Arena til inntekt for Barnekreftforeningens viktige arbeid med å etablere familiehus i Tromsø, Trondheim, Bergen og Oslo. Til sammen klarte vi å samle inn godt over 500 000 kroner. 🚐 Vitensenteret på farten! For første gang har Vitensenteret vært «På hjul» og besøkt skoler i Kristiansund, i tillegg til å ha holdt Vitenshow på Rabalderfestivalen i Molde! 🔬💡 👩‍🔬 Researchers Night: 27. september hadde vi en fantastisk kveld der over 600 ungdommer var samlet! 🦞 Møt Erna, den blå hummeren! I november flyttet en imponerende 50 cm lang blå hummer inn hos oss. Etter en avstemning i VG fikk hun navnet Erna, og hun stortrives i Holmer og skjær! 🎒 Skolebesøk: Over 8000 skoleelever har vært på besøk i Atlanterhavsparken i år, og vi har også hatt gleden av å besøke over 2000 elever for å gi undervisning rundt i regionen! 📚 Dette er bare noen av de utallige høydepunktene fra 2024, og vi er så glade for alt vi har opplevd sammen med dere! Have you ever seen anything so fascinating? 😲 We've got duck shells in Atlanterhavsparken ! 🐚 These have a very special history – they have “hitchhiked” all the way from warmer climes to Norway! 🏝️ Once cockles have grown big, they can float on whatever they have attached themselves to. These cockles are subtropical, and by attaching themselves to a bottle, the sea carried them all the way to Vevang! 🌊💨 Andean cockles eat in the same way as barnacles (small crustaceans), by sticking out feather-shaped feet and collecting plankton 🌱✨ We would recommend everyone to stop by to admire how they eat – it is quite unique! 😍👀 ENG: Have you ever seen something so fascinating? 😲 We now have Andean cockles at Atlanterhavsparken ! 🐚 They have a very special story – they've “hitchhiked” all the way from the subtropics to Norway! 🏝️ Once Andean cockles grow large, they can float on whatever they've attached themselves to.
