Working towards new exhibitions and renewing the content💙 What do you like about your job? Very fun that we have gotten almost all 5th graders in Møre og Romsdal to come here on sea day. It's a lot of fun! 🌊 It's nice to work in teams with the whole house. There is a lot that is across the house. Say hello to Serine 😃 How long have you worked here? Worked here since September 2021. What are your work tasks? It's mainly café work. Expediting customers, getting the café ready in the morning and making sure it looks good. But I also work evening shifts sometimes when Ole has events. Then we serve a variety of different dishes that he has made and serve it to B2B customers 🍽️ What do you like about your job? There are two things I would like to mention and the first is my colleagues. Say hello to Steinar 😃 How long have you worked here? I started working here for a bit during vacations in the beginning of 2022. Have now been a permanent employee since 2023. What are your tasks? It's very varied. It can be anything from feeding fish and animals outside. Working with aquariums, flushing aquariums and making sure the pipes don't get clogged. Washing windows inside and out 🧽 Moving fish and animals 🐟 Replacing algae. I also help catch shellfish and fish for the aquarium 🦀 I also often stand in front of the big tank and chat and spend a lot of time in the activity room. What do you like about your job? I like that it's so varied. I get to interact with the public and talk to them. Communicating how important it is to take care of marine life or wildlife in general 🌊 It's also very exciting to be involved in catching fish and shellfish for the aquarium. I started as extra help at the old aquarium around 1982 and got a permanent job in 1994🐟 So until the summer I have worked at the new and the old aquarium for 30 years. What are your job duties? I started as an aquarist and diver. Have been diving for 25 years🤿 Recently I have resumed my old position as mechanic and technical manager here at the aquarium🔧 What do you like about your job? I like everything. I have worked with tropical fish here once and it was very exciting🐡 It is also very exciting to work with animals and fish. I have been involved in collecting both seals and penguins in Switzerland, Germany, Lofoten and Denmark. So I've been traveling around a lot😊 # atlanterhavsparken #aquarium #Ålesund

Say hello to Ole😃 How long have you worked here? Worked here since August 2020 What are your duties? I was hired as head chef with responsibility for further developing the café 🍴. In terms of further development, I wanted to start baking our own bread, cakes and at the same time use local ingredients such as drink mashed, fish, meat and vegetables🍞🥬 At the same time, I'm responsible for events. I've always had a dream of using the whole aquarium when it comes to food and drink. A few years ago, I thought of a concept where you could go all the way. Starting at the herring tank where you can taste the herring, moving on to the islets and reefs to taste the mackerel, and up at the aquaculture exhibition you can taste trout from Hofseth. This has been named a journey in the sea country where you can end up at the big tank to beautiful tables with white tablecloths and tall glasses🥂. What do you like about your job? I like cooking, but what gives me the most pleasure is seeing young people develop in the café. They come here as 15-16 year olds with little to no food experience and now they are suddenly making mayonnaise, baking bread, baking cakes while serving food from food stalls with great confidence 😊. The focus is on the joy of creation and invention. Say hello to Mina😃 How long have you worked here? I started working here in August one and a half years ago. I had finished my studies in chemistry, biotechnology and education. Then I got a job here at the science center as a scientist formidler🙌🏼 What are your tasks and what do you like about your job? "A lot of it is having learning programs for school classes and kindergartens. So that's one of the best things about having this job here 🔬 It's also very varied, so I think it's incredibly fun. Everything from standing at a food workshop and teaching how to make fish cakes and cod nuggets🐟 It's really great to be able to help influence them to eat more fish and get their families to eat more fish fisk🍽️ There are also learning programs that have to do with technology, which I think is really fun. Welcome to a tribute to the sea, life and love with young musicians from Musikkfolkehøgskolen Viken. The concert is part of the "Under the surface" tour. The sea is magnificent and overwhelming, but also vulnerable and secretive. Just like us humans. To take into account the fish that live in the Atlantic Ocean tank, we want to create a subdued, close and beautiful concert. Cod, halibut, catfish and skate will create a living backdrop for a different concert experience suitable for all age groups😃. I was the first person hired when Atlanterhavsparken became a science center and started as an educational manager. What are your tasks? I'm the contact person for those who need to book learning programs. I put together days for classes that are coming and arrange logistics and organization on the day. I also have dissection sessions with everything from kindergartens to secondary schools. I organize some professional days for high school and have classes up at Storfjord🙌🏼 Then I am also part of the science center network where I get an overview of things that happen in the science center world🔬 What do you like about your job? Being able to give children and young people a different and nice school day is absolutely fantastic.
