Facts about marked edible crab

Crabs are mainly nocturnal animals. The tagged crabs you may see in this aquarium are part of an experiment where we are looking at the crab's behavior throughout the day. The tag is only attached to the outside of the carapace and does not harm the crab. The weight of the tag in water is also not much more than the weight of the fouling organisms that can sometimes naturally grow on the shell.
