They spend much of their time buried in the sand, but when they emerge from the sand to feed, they are often pelagic.

All along the Norwegian coast and in the fjords.
Food:
Zooplankton, fish eggs and fish larvae.
Facts about Tobis

Tobis is a collective term for at least five species of sieve found in Norway. The species are very similar and you have to count fin rays to distinguish them from each other. Storsil is the largest and grows up to 40 cm long.
